A group of young minds, tired of social issues and hurdles abstaining sustainable development, came together in 2011. Starting as volunteers for grassroots organizations, very soon this bunch of young mind created their own initiative in the name of VOICE Pathshala, in collaboration with “Humana People to People India”, an international organization working for homeless in Delhi. At this pathshala support classes were provided to under privileged children. It was the team’s first step towards community empowerment.

While VOICE Pathshala was exploring new minds, its team realized that their efforts will sustain only when there will be supporting environment for students. At the very onset VOICE understood the interrelation between society and education and hence treaded on the path of creating awareness on varied social issues. It undertook community awareness programs, advocacy initiatives and worked upon large scale action research projects.

While creating awareness campaigns VOICE focussed on ensuring community participation. To increase community participation, VOICE started working for community centred issues. Beginning with Sundar Nagri community in Delhi, it organized WASH awareness Mohalla Sabhas. VOICE developed a Solid waste management project for St. Stephen’s Community Health department (CHD) at Sundar Nagari. A compost pit and a roof top vegetable garden were also created at CHD. VOICE also launched unique afforestation campaign called TREEDOM in Delhi to promote tree plantation activities. We have planted more than 1000 trees throughout the country with help of our partner organizations and volunteers.

After working for three years, VOICE was registered in September 2013 and since then has been dedicating its professional and voluntary services in society’s interest.
