Work of education domain began with VOICE Pathshala where evening classes were provided to children, otherwise deprived of education. Started with a group of only three children, VOICE PATHSHALA very soon managed to have five batches of students. Since then we have been promoting education; however many other leaves have been added to the book of VOICE Pathshala. We now have the following interventions for education domain:
1: Evening Classes
VOICE provides evening classes to students who are either dropouts or have not yet enrolled in school. We have our own teaching methodology, which is not restricted to text-book teaching only. We at VOICE believe that each student is unique and hence design a different teaching approach for every student.
2: Support Classes
This component has especially been designed for students who are enrolled in school but require additional teaching support. VOICE first locates the student’s areas of difficulties and intervenes accordingly.
Another element of support classes is Career Counselling. We at VOICE have designed the component of Career counselling especially for distant students, who fail to avail such services due to lack of facilities. VOICE provides telephonic counselling to these students and if need be, organizes career counselling sessions in their areas in collaboration with Career Counselling experts.
3: School Management Committee Training
School Management Committee can play a very crucial role in improving the level of education in an area. VOICE trains the SMC by making them aware of their roles, responsibilities and powers. We have our own training module with which both teachers and parents are acquainted with the benefits of their participation in school management.
4: Education Awareness
This is another component of VOICE Pathshala. VOICE generates education awareness by organizing awareness campaigns. We conduct an intensive study to locate the reasons behind low education level in the targeted area and then design the awareness campaigns accordingly.
